The National Health and Safety Administrator (NHSA)™ program provides entry-level safety training for those who maintain a health and safety system and do not have three years of construction field experience.
If you have three years of construction experience, please refer to the NCSO® designation webpage.
The NHSA™ designation demonstrates knowledge in various health and safety management skills and principles and is transferrable across Canada.
Program requirements for the NCSO and NHSA designations are established in alignment with national standards and may be updated periodically. ACSA reserves the right to modify program requirements, policies, and course eligibility as needed.

  2. Auditor Training Program
  3. Communication & Ethics for the Safety Leader
  4. Construction Safety Administration
  5. Contractor Management
  6. Leadership for Safety Excellence (LSE)™
  7. Principles of Health & Safety Management
  8. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) 2015 Train-the-Trainer
  9. Worksite Investigation Basics
  10. An industry safety orientation (any one of the following):
    • Construction Safety Training System (CSTS) 2020
    • Pipeline Construction Safety Training (PCST)
    • Electrical Safety Training System (ESTS)
  11. Standard First Aid*

  1. Alberta Temporary Traffic Control Train the Trainer (ATTC-TTT)
  2. Alcohol & Drugs: Worksite Guidelines
  3. Defensive Driving – 3 Demerits
  4. Flagger Train-the-Trainer

  7. Scaffolding Awareness
